Slightly oddly given the geography, there were few cameos between the Zones. (I think we were all too busy having a real good time together apart.) Excellently FOR ME I was asked twice over to Sega Zone; once as the author of a small feature and the other with a drawing.

A running gag in the mag was Tim Tucker's theory of dinosaurs which by comical means led to the scientific profbloke classifying the birds of today - most noticeably chickens - as dinos. To illustrate one of these lecturey asides, I was invited to scribble Jurassic Park - But With Penguins. I did so and Tim Norris the Ed asked what I'd like to be paid. With becoming coquettish embarrassment I tapped him on the arm with a collapsed fan and said "La!", then replied, "Oh, tch, that's okay."

"No, really, I insist," didn't continue Tim, and thanked me with courteous innocence for my helpful generosity, returning to his steeple-fingered editing. This taught me a valuable life lesson and ever since I've forced myself to clear up any payment beforehand, leading to a long and shining career of unemployment.

(Hang on. I never did get my original picture back. I demand an investigation several years ago.)
